BAYPORT The hometown of the Hardy Boys is likely based on the real city of Bayport, located on the southern side of Long Island, New York. Long Island is famed for (among other things) its North Shore (often referred to as the Gold Coast for its wealthy constituents), the Hamptons, F. ScottFitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, and the Montauk Lighthouse. The terrain is rocky, with beaches often being little more than bluffs. Bayport itself is affluent and well-kempt. It figures on the large side of small (almost 50,000 residents), but has managed to keep all the trappings of a small town intact. When in Bayport, as with other sections in-game, major locations are traversable via the in-game map. The Neighborhood The immediate neighborhood surrounding the Hardy home is a typical middle to upper class New England suburb. The land is flat, being near the waterline of the Atlantic Ocean. The flora - as with most of Long Island - is diverse, including elms, oaks, maples, and hickories. The streets are clean and wide, and yards are spacious. The accessible areas are the Hardy and Morton homes. The houses are traversable via the Bayport map.
